Johannesburg - The family of 3-year-old Cuburne Lavone van Wyk, whose burnt body was found at a mine dump in Ramaphosa, Reiger Park, on the East Rand, is hoping for justice.

"We are frustrated because the court case keeps getting postponed and we want to see justice done," said Van Wyk's father Elroy Peterson.

"We want pressure to be put on the investigating officers involved in the case," he said outside his house in Ramaphosa, where Gauteng Premier David Makhura was expected to meet the family.

Peterson said he hoped Makhura's visit would help accelerate the case and bring it to finality.

"We also want police to keep us updated on the case because we don't know what is going on."

Van Wyk went missing from his parents' home on 6 August. Workers found his burnt body at a nearby mine dump four days later.

His alleged killer Nathaniel Katlego Mpoku, 25, appeared in the Boksburg Magistrate's Court on 31 October. The matter was postponed to 10 December.
