Johannesburg - A foreign national accused of murder appeared in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

The case against Senosi Yusuf was postponed to 26 January for bail application.

He is accused of shooting Siphiwe Mahori, 14, to death in Snake Park, Soweto, on Monday afternoon.

He allegedly fired at a group of people attempting to rob his shop.

After the shooting foreign nationals' shops were looted and they were chased out of the area.

Four other foreigners charged with possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition also appeared in court.

Their case was postponed to 29 January for bail applications.

Gauteng police said over 60 people were arrested since the violence started on Monday.

Their cases were under way in several courts set aside for the large number of people expected to appear.

The Star reported on Thursday that a second teenager, Nhlanhla Monareng, 19, was shot dead when police fired into a crowd gathered at a Pakistani-owned shop on Wednesday night.
