Social media reacts to Grayston bridge collapse

Johannesburg - Social media has been lit up following Joburg’s traffic chaos on Thursday, with both #BridgeCollapse and #JHBTraffic currently trending on Twitter.

Two people have been confirmed dead in the Grayston bridge collapse, while the City of Johannesburg has received a report of a third death, to be confirmed upon a visit to the hospital.

The number of the injured remains at 21, with five of these critically injured, Mayor Parks Tau's spokesperson Phindile Chauke told News24.

The city meanwhile has urged motorists to avoid using their cars completely on Thursday, with clean up operations hoping to open the M1 highway before afternoon traffic hits peak flow.
