Johannesburg - A man accused of raping his teenage step-daughter appeared in the Alexandria Magistrate's Court, near Port Alfred, on Monday, Eastern Cape police said.

Police spokesperson Luvuyo Mjekula said the 41-year-old businessman would remain in custody and would appear again on 26 February.

He allegedly started raping his 13-year-old step-daughter last year.

The man was arrested last Thursday, when the girl complained to her teacher.

This is SAD, the guy is businessman, its likely the mother knew about this and was turning a blind eye, because she will either be killed if she talks or will lose a nice life of being taken care of by a businessman. Its Hard in this land we live in.

Rapes are so out of control in your country there should be public hangings no BS! Until you are able to meet violence with violence nothing will change. How many more women have to be raped before you arm yourselves occupy your neighborhoods and throw those scumbags out of office?

  • dan.moore.12532 - 2013-02-19 21:11

Marcus is right until you as a country SA are willing to meet the violence with violence nothing will change. Criminals don't change until the pain of the punishment is greater than the pain of the criminal behavior. Start a neighborhood watch, arm yourselves, and take back your country. Bring back the death penalty start hanging rapists and murders in public and crime will drop I guarantee it
