'Strong leads' in hunt for Limpopo man

2012-01-05 12:18

Polokwane - Limpopo police are confident the 51-year-old man wanted for the murder of his stepson and an attack on his estranged wife will be arrested.

"We are following strong leads... we have guys on the ground tracking him down. We are confident he will be arrested. I hope today," spokesperson Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said on Thursday.

The man, whose identity document indicates that he was born in Namibia, allegedly forced three men believed to be his workers at gunpoint to gang-rape his estranged wife and mutilated her in his home in Modimolle on Tuesday.

He then lured his 19-year-old stepson to his house and shot him dead when he arrived.

Beeld newspaper reported on Thursday that he had earlier lured his wife to his home to discuss their marriage, and had also called the stepson there claiming he wanted to have a discussion with him.

On his arrival, the man forced him into a room and shot him in the head.

The newspaper reported that he left a note at the scene, saying he was tired of living and that the police should not look for him. The man fled in his white Toyota Fortuner registration number DCS 392 FS.

The three identified as his workers ran away and their whereabouts were unknown.

Mauladzi said it was not known whether the three indeed worked for the husband before the attack, or whether he had picked them up in town and offered them a temporary job.

      The article disappeared?

      karen.glautier - 2012-01-05 13:21

@Bardy, all the more reason for News24 to do their own reporting instead of just re-reporting other publishers material??

      Melissa - 2012-01-05 13:40

Don't you think that Report could have been to flush him out??

      Bardy - 2012-01-05 13:58

@ Karen - I can't agree with you more. Wonder why my first statement was removed though? Am I touching a sensitive area? LOL!

      Mr C - 2012-01-05 14:07

@Bardy - you're touching them on their studio!

      Squeegee - 2012-01-05 20:23

      SergeD69 - 2012-01-05 18:43

Where is Tswane? Just kidding :-))

  • Durbanite88 - 2012-01-05 12:45

This oke..whoever he a very sick s tomach turns with every line of this horrific story. I feel like throwing up..I hope & I know the reliable & capable authorities will apprehend this twisted fool, convict him without delay - becos we have an eyewitness - he must get double life sentences - then grind the cell keys to minute that there would be very little chance of escape or parole. He must rot in jail.

  • Peter - 2012-01-05 13:02

The guy will probably kill himself. What a freak.

      Hendrik - 2012-01-05 13:40

      or has done so already?

      paulmandlankosi - 2012-01-05 14:09

Probably he shot himself through the empty skull

  • jakkals616 - 2012-01-05 13:02

hes probably put a bullet in his own head somewhere where no one will find him. Lets hope for that.

      Bardy - 2012-01-05 13:11

He told the police in his letter that they should not come look for him so that is my thoughts as well. They are probably on a wild goose chase!

      Betweenuandme - 2012-01-05 13:11

Best they find him, dead or alive, otherwise the victim will be looking over her shoulder for the rest of her days...

      Ansie - 2012-01-05 13:18

I'm also tired of "this life". Going to rob a bank this afternoon and then leave note for police not to come look for me...

  • Tshivhombela Fhatuwani - 2012-01-05 13:07

Ai ai ai! Didn't they said they arrested him somewhere in Kimberly yesterday?

  • Gavin - 2012-01-05 13:15

I will hunt you down and tear you limb from limb... Nothing shall remain, not your memory or name... It will be as though you never ever lived...

      Chabi - 2012-01-05 19:24

Don't be so frustrated... take a chill pill with a Bell's..You don't sound right.

  • Howard - 2012-01-05 13:27

Shoot the bastard before he shoots himself

      Hemlock - 2012-01-05 14:55

Shooting is too quick and easy. Give his estranged wife a knife and let her slice pieces off off his willie, just as he arranged for her breasts to be sliced and mutilated by her rapists and let him bleed to death slowly!

  • David - 2012-01-05 13:32

Im starting a mob. Anyone welcome. Bring pitchforks, torches and a nice helping of bloodthirst.

      Consolata Lodya - 2012-01-05 13:45

Will join you. Maybe we should start a manhunt of our own, warn everyone in your town about this creature. I think that they have a photo of him on the rapport site.

      Siso - 2012-01-05 14:15

      100% behind you..

  • Jessica - 2012-01-05 13:34

The news reports that he was arrested in Kimberley is false. It's pathetic that false information get published. he is still on the loose. And it would be a pity if the pig took his own life, the easy way out after taking the life of a mother's child and destroying the wife. Disgusting, people like this should rot in hell

  • Howard - 2012-01-05 13:34

You do not know anything about police work. The arrest report was to flush him out. Watch the press.

      Mr C - 2012-01-05 14:09

how is saying that he was arrested going to flush him out constable?

      Squeegee - 2012-01-05 18:21

      Neither do the police.

  • Hendrik - 2012-01-05 13:38

Wow, maybe I'm still suffering from the festive season, but this article has me questioning my own state of mind. They now confident that he will be arrested with the "strong leads" they have, but we must have missed the news that he escaped after he was already arrested in Kimberley. But then if you read the other details of the incident it does not even quite resemble the same story when it first broke? Someone help me please, what did I miss out where? Previously the 19yr old accidentally walked into the room after he heard the noise, (angle grinder)now he was "lured" into the house and forced into a room? What these reporters been smoking?? Share some then we can maybe all follow and understand your reporting.

      karen.glautier - 2012-01-05 13:48

Ditto... however the reports that he was arrested were APPARENTLY to FLUSH HIM OUT..... not sure how they were hoping to achieve that, but then again the ganja could be assisting in this theory!

      Xenswim1 - 2012-01-05 21:27

thinking about with all these red herrings thrown about willy nilly maybe there was never a murder. Maybe the woman was never raped.

  • Gerrie - 2012-01-05 13:43

WTF are there more of them?????

      karen.glautier - 2012-01-05 13:50

Lol, your coment made me laugh! :D

  • Thoka - 2012-01-05 13:47

I want o be a reporter, No pressure in that field. Just report limpopo news sitting in a pub in pretoria

      Mr C - 2012-01-05 14:10

i tell you... weatherman or reporter - 2 best jobs out there, you never have to be right! :)

      SergeD69 - 2012-01-05 18:48

Would prefer weatherman. No discussion forum where people can burst your bubble.

  • jack.kukard - 2012-01-05 13:51

Hope they find him quickly , then they should string him up in a public place.....

  • Tyla - 2012-01-05 14:01

times like these i really wish they would hand the bastard over to the families of the victims. let them take their time & make him suffer, until death he do part.

  • Gerrie - 2012-01-05 14:03

WTF.... are there more of them????

  • Thopa - 2012-01-05 14:26

Why must we believe this article? for what is worth Greame Smith has been scoring runs for the past two seasons but news24 has been feeding us wrong info...

      Rip - 2012-01-05 18:33

if you don't like the News24 sories why in hell read them? Who, in any event, bothers about a freeking cricket score? Thats just idiots playing with their balls.

  • karen.cigana - 2012-01-05 14:37

I am sure he commited suicide already. How can you live with yourself after such an ordeal!!

  • Howard - 2012-01-05 15:00

He will be following the news. His ego will not allow people to think he has been arrested hence the"flush out"

  • Elize - 2012-01-05 15:05

I am very sure that they won't find this guy alive, he has most probably killed himself already!!

      Danie - 2012-01-05 17:42

Yes, like I said "hanging around" on one of his farms

  • Howard - 2012-01-05 15:08

Johan Kotze is a sick man. Hope they find him soon

  • Terry - 2012-01-05 16:02

      Mr C - 2012-01-06 09:35

European? Sounds afrikaans to me... & why you shouting?

  • Pixie86 - 2012-01-05 16:23

johan britz is strangely very silent! He loves commenting on such issues.

      TaniaSandraSteyn - 2012-01-05 16:35

I hope they are checking in Nam. Once he skips the border there will be little hope of catching him. This guy apparently has a long case history of fraud and other charges. Where did people get the impression that he was a police officer?

      Johan - 2012-01-06 10:08

I sure do, Inga Kabane. According to what I read, the rapists themselves were black, albeit "forced". Uhuh. Terrible crime, terrible deed. Doesn't do much to sway the stats though... Where's your comment, or just just fishing for something from me?

      Mr C - 2012-01-06 10:36

  • Perfume5 - 2012-01-05 17:52

Why did News24 publish an article saying he was arrested, poor journalism I must say!

  • Peter - 2012-01-05 18:28

    Sicko deluxe

  • daniel.w.gie - 2012-01-05 19:29

they capture him alive ?.....I doubt it ...this man is desperate. probably caught a plane to Germany already . or suicide.

  • Mattheus - 2012-01-06 02:18

Maybe he is a general "Celebe" in the SAPS ?

  • Mattheus - 2012-01-06 02:21

    Sorry "celebrity" ...

  • Annerie - 2012-01-06 07:04

ARGH! LET US GIVE THE POLICE A HINT.......CHECK THE BORDER POSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • tony.calitz - 2012-01-06 07:33

If they have this scumbag's ID & are searching for him, why the heck not publish his ID photo?? If the "alleged" note is real then it seems that he's going to commit suicide in any case - let's hope he does because this world will be so much better without just another mad-dog sitting in prison at our expense!

      Perfume5 - 2012-01-06 08:38

His photo and ID were published on DIE BEELD's site when the story first broke.

  • Kenneth - 2012-01-06 12:40

People who are tired of living must take their own miserable lives and leave the souls of innocent people.

  • Narnis - 2012-01-06 13:29

Evil man, wish I could kick him in the head! Pray for this woman that she can recover from such an ordeal.

  • Ken - 2012-01-09 21:50

I think we should ask Piet Byleveldt to sort this problem out. I am sure that he will succeed in a day or two.
