Cape Town - Students outside the Granger Bay Cape Peninsula University of Technology campus are demanding that management come out to address them.

News24 reporter Thulani Gqirana said, however, that an unidentified man with a megaphone addressed the students and told them that the vice chancellor was not there. Earlier, the man said that students were allowed to send three representatives onto the campus.

Students, said in turn, however, that three people could not speak for them as a whole.

News24 reporter Jenni Evans said it seemed as though students were dispersing and making their way back to the CBD.

Others, however, refused to believe that management was not at the campus.

"Leaders have started fighting among themselves, calling each other sell outs," said Gqirana.

She added that students were frazzled by the heat and were seeking shade.

Students throughout the country are protesting against proposed fee hikes for 2016.
