Pretoria - Stun grenades were used to disperse a crowd of Pan Africanist Student Movement of Azania (Pasma) members at the Tshwane University of Technology's Soshanguve campus on Tuesday shortly after EFF leader Julius Malema arrived to hear their grievances.

They were escorted by members of the SA Police Service.

A large crowd of members in green T-shirts marched in song in the direction of an EFF gathering.

"What you just witnessed now is what we witnessed at the main campus," Malema told the crowd.

"They want to disrupt our meeting. The reason why they do that is because they accept that the red sea has arrived, the red sea is unstoppable. These are the last kicks of a dying horse. They have played that role and that role has come to an end."

Malema called for EFF members to remain calm and disciplined, discouraging them from retaliating.

Malema earlier addressed his party's supporters at the Tshwane University of Technology's Pretoria West campus where EFF and Sasco members threw stones at one another.

Police and security were forced to intervene.
