Cape Town - A suspect has been arrested for the murder of 64-year-old Anthea du Preez in Rawsonville, Netwerk24 reported on Thursday.

The suspect was arrested on Wednesday night but police would not give any further information.

Du Preez’s body was found in her home on the farm De Denne early on Monday morning. She was shot dead.

Du Preez was the wife of farmer Hennie du Preez. The estate had been in the Du Preez family since 1926.

The DA’s Rawsonville councillor Sammy Goedeman said Du Preez was “a very good woman” and “truly a people’s person”.
