East London - Alert Kei Bridge Police have arrested a 29-year-old man in the early hours today after he was found driving a bakkie stolen in Queenstown last month.

It was later discovered the suspects is already facing another case of vehicle theft.

The police officers were on patrol along along the N2 at Kei Cuttings in Butterworth at about 02:00 when they spotted the suspect alone in the Nissan bakkie.

They pulled him over and asked him to produce the vehicle's documents, but he was unable to, Police Spokesman Captain Jackson Manatha said.

The vehicle's details were circulated and found to have been stolen at Mlungisi Township in Queenstown during March. Police also discovered that the suspect has another case of theft of a motor vehicle pending.
