Suspected drug den petrol-bombed

2013-07-31 10:03

Cape Town - A suspected drug den has been petrol-bombed in Grassy Park, Cape Town, and one person has been shot dead.

Eyewitness News reported on Wednesday that the house in Sixth Avenue was attacked on Tuesday night.

This is not the first time that the house has been targeted, according to the Grassy Park Community Policing Forum (CPF).

"The community gets frustrated with police inaction. In that particular area the CPF has had continuous complaints about that particular premises and others in the Sixth Avenue area as well," the CPF's Phillip Bam told EWN.

A police spokesperson confirmed that arson and murder charges are being investigated, and urged community members not to take the law into their own hands.

DA wants another province yet they can't get WC crime in order. They are clearly failing to bring order in WC.

      Sheilan Clarke - 2013-07-31 10:25

People like you amaze me. if you know nothing about how government works, refrain from commenting please.

      Son OfSoil - 2013-07-31 10:36

I clearly know better than you do. The premier is the Accounting Officer in all functions of government in a province. Zille is responsible for WC security and she is failing. Don't try to conveniently pass the buck.

      Jo Lekkading - 2013-07-31 10:47

No Son, it's crystal clear that the ANC has failed to control crime in the rest of the country. You rotten ANC rubbish must stop your trouble-making in the ONLY well-run province in the country. Jealousy (and all your sick racism) makes you nasty.

      Jacqui Daane Van Rensburg - 2013-07-31 10:52

Son Of Soil. Minister Mthethwa is in charge of police, go ask him why he won't give the Cape more police. Zuma is in charge of the army, go ask him why he refused Zille's request to use the army to quell this drug curse for good. Don't point fingers at the wrong people, rather point them at your ANC ministers failing to do their jobs.

      Son OfSoil - 2013-07-31 10:53

@Jo, you sound more like people who always blame their incompetencies to apartheid. DA is running WC not ANC, Zille and DA must "man up" and take some responsibility. Racism?? Where is that coming from?

      Titus Madiba - 2013-07-31 11:08

Son OfSoil no use trying to explain things to Jo. He insists apartheid was better than today and, he is a deluded individual and the most racist on this forum!!

      Alistair Fiddleton - 2013-07-31 11:23

@Son of soil and Titus. but where did Jo even mention apartheid?

      Jo Lekkading - 2013-07-31 11:46

Son & Titus. Clearly the two of you have already had your free ANC lobotomy's. I never mentioned apartheid. I just said that the ANC has done NOTHING to stop crime in the rest of the country. Please stop being so stupid. Intelligence and education are two completely different things. One can be intelligent without education, just as one can be a complete and utter moron despite the best education in the world. (Before you come with your whiny, crybaby, whinging about how bad life was for you nearly 20 years ago, and there was no decent education, when you were probably only a toddler anyway). And Son, I have no incompetencies to blame on apartheid, I think you are mistaking me for that fat, disgusting fool you call president. He is the one who cannot accept responsibility, and is constantly blaming apartheid. Titus. Where am I the most racist person on the forum? I hardly ever comment here. And you can't blame me for speaking truths. Just because those truths aren't wrapped up in a pretty little ribbon so that they don't hurt your ever-so-important feelings. Wena, grow up. Gosh. Sometimes it's better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you are a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

      Keg - 2013-07-31 12:00

SOS you my frien dhave zero Idea of what you are talking about SAP is controlled Nationally by National Government who is? Yes thats right the ANC. Zille asked for hekp and got ingnored. Tell me something the drug issues within Eldo's Sunnyside Hillbrow and the Suburbs in and around Johannesburg, are they under control? No and who rund Gauteng? The ANC yes thats right. The cANCer proganda force is strong in this one. CLOWN|!!!

      Son OfSoil - 2013-07-31 12:16

@Jo, much as I wanna entertain your comment but I refuse to be part directionless conversation particularly one infested with insults than factual arguments. I spoke about WC crime and the failure of DA to contain it, you spoke about crime ANC is failing to contain in the rest of the country. That's fair though you never brought any fact to oppose my assertion about DA failure to curb crime in WC. You then spoke about racism "(and all your sick racism)" and I asked you where that racism claim was coming from thinking you are a mature and reasonable, you never cared to answer that, instead you called me "stupid" and spew some lecture about "intelligence and education". Well that's also fair though it made you look very off tune ito the subject, DA failure to curb crime in WC. If one would check our comments impartially, I am sure you'd be the one declared stupid than you claim I am. Grow up buddy if you wish to be taken seriously in social forums like this one.

      Jo Lekkading - 2013-07-31 12:47

Son, I didn't need to answer the question about the DA and crime in the WC, because SO many other people have already kindly pointed out that the police are run by the ANC, that Helen Zille has been begging for assistance in clearing out the scum, but the ANC has point blank refused the help. Did you really need me to type out the same point that has already been made quite a few times in this thread? As for the rest of it, I was pre-empting the usual crud that spews from the mouths of ANC supporters. The "we never got a decent education", "feel sorry for us", and "I demand ...". If you deny any racism by the ANC sheeple, well ... what can I say. Ignorance is bliss. Are you one of those people who believes that only whites can be racist? I hope you have more intelligence than that. The stupid racist remarks that are always being made about the DA are very low-class (as are all ANC supporters). The poo-flinging is just one small example of that, when clearly there are an unbelievable amount of poor people who are still stuck with having to use bucket systems in provinces that are run by the ANC. Way way way more, per province, than those being used in the Western Cape. But anyway, that's a debate for another day, another thread. And just so we're clear, I'm not your buddy.

      PointBlank - 2013-07-31 12:53

      Son OfSoil goes full retard.

      Titus Madiba - 2013-07-31 13:08

Alistair I have had many encounters with Jo on this forum I know what I speak of.

      Jo Lekkading - 2013-07-31 14:52

Titus. Many encounters? I have no clue who you are. Lol. You obviously have never said anything that's made any sense, or I would remember.

      John Smith - 2013-07-31 21:48

SAPS thick corrupt thug force is run by corrupt ANC. Give them to Zille and then blame DA for crime in the Cape.

  • Alistair Fiddleton - 2013-07-31 10:17

SOUND THE ALARM!! PASS THE AMMUNITION!! WE ARE GOING TO WAR!!

      Jo Lekkading - 2013-07-31 10:49

Can we, please? Can we have our SA Spring? Can we take the corrupt politicians out onto the streets and whip them, tar and feather them? Tattoo them across the forehead listing their crimes. Please please please.

      Carling Blacklabel - 2013-07-31 10:52

      my rifle is ready

      jerhone - 2013-07-31 12:15

to JO all you have to tattoo across their foreheads is DOMD**S

  • Francois-Jacques Malan - 2013-07-31 10:21

If the police want to prevent mob justice they should do their job and fu€k up those dealers with the long d!ck of the law!!!

  • Zakes Seema - 2013-07-31 10:26

This is the only way to go. Identify them and give them instant justice, period!

  • bongani.mahlangu.923724 - 2013-07-31 10:41

Burn dem all, I mean drug dealers so dat youngsters won't commit dem self 2 drugs

      jerhone - 2013-07-31 12:17

and then steal to support the habbit

  • Vusi Nhlabathi - 2013-07-31 10:42

I am in support of the community to toast the drug dealers cause we know them and we report them to the police, and the police just go there and collect bribes

  • Shakir Eddericks - 2013-07-31 10:45

normally PAGAD will give the drug den notice, to say if you not out of here in a month, we gonna blow yo ass up

      Matthew - 2013-07-31 14:18

PAGAD was the one gang people actually routed for when i grew up.well, until planet hollywood business etc.but still.if only they'd been able finish cleaning house (so to speak) with the other gangs

  • Jacqui Daane Van Rensburg - 2013-07-31 10:48

Good riddance. Bomb them all to smithereens.

  • Muke Matshaba - 2013-07-31 10:56

Who shot at the deceased person,,,is the community or the house occupants defending their property ?

  • Rebecca Smith - 2013-07-31 11:06

Well as cops don't do their jobs of clearing out thee houses and as drug dealers seem to have more rights than the honest people having to live with these thugs I am all for the people taking the law into their own hands, bomb the lots of them. Maybe then the cops might pull finger and do their jobs!

  • Phil Graham - 2013-07-31 11:29

Can't say I blame them!! How else do you get rid of the drug dealers, if the police are so ineffective?

      Alex - 2013-07-31 13:34

Best way to deal with this issue is for the State to regulate the drugs trade, that way the criminals have no market and are denied their profits. But it will take a long time and many more lives lost before our politicians catch on.

      nkosikhonorman.ludidi - 2013-07-31 16:09

Police do arrest those drug dealers but courts keep on realizing these criminals, they release them saying the scale of the drugs is too small so they can't prosecute the accused,,,,and there this drug they call it nyaope(a white powder substance)which the court don't recognize it as drug..so arresting them its a worst of time

  • Nasiefa Jackson Lazarus - 2013-07-31 14:11

Mob Justice doing the work of the cops !! good job:)

  • Mpho Leopeng - 2013-07-31 16:51

    Ka Boom. Hooray

  • John Smith - 2013-07-31 21:29

The only way to eradicate this problem.

      Alex - 2013-08-01 00:17

Please name one country in the world that has wiped out drug use through a zero tolerance approach to drugs. You can't because there isn't one. People need to accept that drug use is here to stay. Mankind has been taking drugs for thousands of years. Alcohol use is drug use (responsible for the most deaths, physical abuse and societal decay of any drug legal or illegal) and no one is calling for all of the breweries to be bombed and burnt to the ground. Why not?

  • John Smith - 2013-07-31 21:34

If the useless thick thug corrupt cops do nothing then the community has every right to defend itself against their aggressors. The cops have failed to PROTECT and SERVE.
