Johannesburg - A teacher accused of killing his wife appeared in the Mankweng Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, Limpopo police said.

Constable Moses Molepo said Albert Mathete, 47, would be back in court on 12 July. He remains in custody.

The teacher handed himself over to authorities after gunning down his wife, who was a nurse at the Sebayeng Clinic in Mankweng, following an argument they had.

His wife Sarah was shot twice in the head.
