Teen arrested for raping girl, 6

2012-04-17 13:33

Johannesburg - A Soweto teenager will appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Tuesday for allegedly raping a 6-year-old girl at her school, Gauteng police said.

Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said the 17-year-old boy allegedly raped the girl in the bathroom of Busisiwe Primary School in Zola, Soweto, on Friday.

"When she went home the girl's mother saw that her panties were full of blood. On Monday the mother went to clinic to confirm that the girl was raped. She then laid a charge against the boy, and we went to arrest him."

The teenager would face the rape charge as a minor.

what is a 17 old man still doing in primary school? i partly blame the Government.

      Wayne - 2012-04-17 13:51

      that explains his mentality...

      robert.cerff - 2012-04-17 13:55

Actually the article states at HER school... which happens to be the primary school. Real question is why was he there? Who the hell let him in!

      CharlesDumbwin - 2012-04-17 14:15

      17 in Grade 7 ??? Makes sense actually ... Savages !!!

      Irene - 2012-04-17 14:48

They start their raping tendency young.

      Rob - 2012-04-17 15:23

I blame the parents. What is it with these parents are they not able to instill any sense of " right & wrong " into their kids. Just now some of these kids will see their parents on TV protesting in the streets for one thing or the other & next thing you know they will destroy & loot their own houses :-)

      theburg511 - 2012-04-17 16:07

i wouldn't credit someone who does this with the word "man"

  • Schmee - 2012-04-17 13:44

Pity the mother didn't take her daughter to a rape crisis centre or the police immediately. Then they could had DNA evidence and water tight case.

  • dynamitecandy - 2012-04-17 13:44

    Disgusting!!! Full stop!!!

  • Marion - 2012-04-17 13:50

Will our children ever be safe from predators? We can't be with them 24/7 and we have this illusion that school is a reasonably safe environment. Hope they gave her HIV meds at the clinic.

      Sharon - 2012-04-17 16:25

@ Marion - I don't think there is a safe place in South Africa anymore. There have been similar stories, but where the girls were in the "safety" of their own homes. This little girl can't even read or write yet, and had to suffer this terrible experience! She is just a baby. What a tragedy..

Please don't liken him to an animal !!!! He's a monster

  • Ted - 2012-04-17 14:01

Totally disgusting. If in most countries someone is allowed to consent to sex at the age of 16; can join the army and fight for his or her country, and can drive a car on national roads; surely a 17 year old can be tried as an adult!

      Tanya Brown - 2012-04-17 16:35

      brilliant comment agreed

  • MornĂ© - 2012-04-17 14:07

The ANC Government is failing in everything, crime prevention, Justice system, Municipal duties, roads and public works.preventing poaching. All they exceed to do is to exceed the financial budget !!!!!!!!!

  • Valerie - 2012-04-17 14:08

If he is so evil to do this "adult" thing to anyone let alone a small child then he should be tried and sentenced as an adult. He knew what he was doing.

  • leeroy.t.ngundu - 2012-04-17 14:09

Very dissapointing I'm really touched. He was not suppose to be charged as a teen but as an adult very dissapointing where is this world going to

  • leeroy.t.ngundu - 2012-04-17 14:09

  • Bryan - 2012-04-17 14:19

And he will be charged as a minor??? Sick F**K

      Johan - 2012-04-17 19:06

No he will be charged as everybody else is. The only difference is that he only faces a maximum of 25 years imprisonment.

  • Faizie - 2012-04-17 14:26

Wheres the mob when we need them

  • Rethamyh - 2012-04-17 14:31

This minor did not commit a 'minor' crime!! He should be punished so that he doesn't even think of a 'major' crime in that sick head of his!!!

  • Refiloe - 2012-04-17 14:37

i dnt think this is his first victim.

      Johan - 2012-04-17 19:07

It never is. it is learnt behavior.

  • Mike - 2012-04-17 14:37

'as a minor' so he'l released into parents custody and never see and punishment and just do it again. Thank you for our safe country zoo-ma,you and your cronies have done such a wonderful job at destroying it, really following in the rest of africas footsteps there hey.

      Johan - 2012-04-17 19:09

Nonsense. It has nothing to do with Zuma.

  • boitumelo.moleleki - 2012-04-17 14:54

He's freakin 17!Suspend his sentence and send him to jail next year. Then he learn what its like to get raped!!

  • Grace - 2012-04-17 15:06

If he's old enough to PLAN the rape of a 6 year old in the bathroom of her primary school he's old enough to be charged as an adult!!! How long has be been lurking in school bathrooms and raping innocent children?? Sick sick sick... Send him to jail and let a big man get hold of him

      Johan - 2012-04-17 19:12

He will be charged as anybody is.Until he is an adult, that is, 18, he will not be housed with adults. I hope he gets his just desserts.

  • lmadikwe - 2012-04-17 15:17

No-ways........Death penalty should should be brought back.

  • Cathy - 2012-04-17 16:06

You blame the parents.. Do you know how half of South Africa lives? They're probably dead and he lives with his 95 year old gogo who can't control him. He needs to have his ding dong cut off. Our society is so sad! When is it going to change?

      Johan - 2012-04-17 19:14

This is attractive but if rapists know there dings are going to cut off they tend to murder their victims to avoid identity.

  • Lee - 2012-04-17 16:30

I feel sad for them both I feel sad her, because in no way should anyone have to endure this kind of brutality especially a little child. I feel sad for him, because while he has become this monster and should definitely feel the weight of the consequences for a disgusting act- he didn't start out that way. He was 6 years old once as well...I wonder what happended along the way :-( I don't blame the government. I blame this on our society and the slow erosion of family and parental responsibility in bringing up our children in a moral and ethical way. My prayers go out to that little girl and her family!

      Grace - 2012-04-17 17:03

I don't have sympathy for him... He's 17 and KNOWS right from wrong.

      Lee - 2012-04-17 18:07

Agreed and that's why he needs to be held accountable.

      Jayson - 2012-04-17 18:12

Send him to me, I will hang him.

  • Stille - 2012-04-17 16:32

    sick f**ng animals.

  • Elkieta - 2012-04-17 18:15

Send this teen to stay with Zuma

      Johan - 2012-04-17 19:16

      What will that achieve?
