Tembisa protesters heading to stadium

2011-08-19 11:15

Johannesburg - Hundreds of protesters in Tembisa, near Kempton Park, were being allowed to proceed to the Mehlareng Stadium on Friday even though their march was illegal, Ekurhuleni metro police said.

"The protesters have said they are going to the stadium to speak to their leaders and then they will disperse. So we are giving them the go ahead even though the march is not legal," Inspector Mveli Nhlapo said.

He did not know what they were protesting about.

Earlier, protesters burnt tyres and blocked roads in the area.

Nhlapo said he could not confirm reports that rubber bullets had been fired.

The protesters were intimidating people into staying away from work, he said.

Four schools had been closed as a result of the protest. "Children were told not to go school and the residents did not want the schools opened."

More dark alien forces on the way!

      cliffarc - 2011-08-19 12:22

      - Illegal march but they can carry on - tells you eveything about breaking the laws in this country.

"He did not know what they were protesting about." The protesters probably don't know either but hey it's an opportunity to jiggy jig and cause pandemonium so what the heck! Anything to perform, and vandalise and create chaos and they're in.

      LUTHULIHOUSE - 2011-08-19 11:43

Spoken like a true naive, racist, white spoiled brat, I am not expecting anything more or less from you.

      ConcernedMom - 2011-08-19 11:47

You know, I agree with Luthulihouse. I also think your comment is unreasonable. You have no idea what it is like to live there .... and it was the Inspector who did not know what they were protesting about.

      ANCrCriminal - 2011-08-19 12:20

      @LUTHULIHOUSE another lazy black racist

      LUTHULIHOUSE - 2011-08-19 12:30

ANCrCriminal: ignorant white bustard, I have my own nekcuF Business, you Idiot.

      PinkAndProud - 2011-08-19 12:47

@LUTHULIHOUSE - Wrong again boy. The thing is, I know how to behave, so if that makes me a naive, racist, white spoilt brat, then go for it. It's like water off a ducks back. You, on the other hand, should be so very ashamed of yourself by having any association with Luthuli House! Good grief, do you seriously expect anybody to respect you with a name like that?

      ANCrCriminal - 2011-08-19 12:51

@LUTHULIHOUSE - I stand by my comment, you could have other lazy racist blacks running around for you, just becuase you own a business does notmean you work hard.... what is nekcuF....?

      LUTHULIHOUSE - 2011-08-19 12:59

ANCrCriminal--->suite yourself, so you know I have 5 white afrikaaner technical staff who appreciates my effort in ensuring they are able to support their Families. So that you know I like them and have lots of respect for them. so you can say whatever you want.

      ANCrCriminal - 2011-08-19 13:21

@LUTHULIHOUSE - Good for you, well done... I have 9 blacks that work with me, all them of them whinning about how much work they have to do with out realising that I do twice as much and have to cover up for them when they stuff up. All of them are intelligent all of them have degree's, so it always amazed me why they complained so much... then it fell into place, they all support the ANC and they all believe that things should be handed to them, that they shoudlnt have to work. BTW I work in IT doing customer support so they they get rate on the support they giev a customer and how they treat the customer. Their biggest complaint they dont feel they should be rated on that becuase they dont like getting low scores when customer's complain. oh ya and they all get paid more than I do.
