Thousands of students make their way to Granger Bay hotel

Cape Town - More than a thousands students have arrived at the Waterfront as they make their way to Granger Bay hotel.

University management is apparently holding a meeting at the hotel.

News24 reporter Thulani Gqirana said police were on their way to the scene.

Meanwhile, News24 reporter Vernon Pillay said students were calling for the "revolution" not  to be televised. He said they also did not want photographs taken.

He said students were about five minutes from the hotel. A helicopter was also flying overhead.

Gqirana said bystanders in support of the students dropped off oranges for some of them.
