Johannesburg - The man accused of killing three-year-old Cuburne van Wyk of Ramaphosa Informal Settlement in Reiger Park, Ekurhuleni, is expected back in the Boksburg Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

During his last appearance Nathaniel Katlego Mpoku's bail application was abandoned. He was arrested in Germiston in August.

Van Wyk disappeared on August 6 while playing outside with his siblings in Reiger Park. His body was discovered by a passer-by at a mine dump in Reiger Park three days later.

Police said he died as a result of multiple head injuries and burn wounds.
