2012-10-10 07:32

Johannesburg - Three people were injured on Wednesday morning when two delivery trucks collided on the N3 North, paramedics said.

"Reports from the scene indicate that both trucks were travelling towards Pietermaritzburg when one rear-ended the other," Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said.

The cause of the accident was unknown. Paramedics found one passenger trapped in the wreckage in a critical condition and the other two, the driver and a passenger, were found on the roadside with minor injuries at 03:00, Botha said.

He said the jaws-of-life were used to extricate the trapped man. They were all stabilised at the scene and taken to a local hospital. The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt.
