Two bodies found along Vaal river

2013-01-04 20:04

Johannesburg - The bodies of two men were found lying in the bushes next to the R59 bridge along the Vaal River on Friday, Vereeniging police said.

Spokesperson sergeant Xolile Majola said a fisherman found the bodies of two African men believed to be in their 20s.

"[The] bodies were badly assaulted and had head wounds that seem to be caused by firearms..." he said in a statement.

"Preliminary investigations indicated that the deceased might have been with girls who might have been victims of rape... The police are urging [people] who might have knowledge about the cruel criminal act to contact [us]."

Majola said no arrests have been made and investigations continue.

One man was wearing black trousers with a purple shirt and the other man was wearing a white shirt and grey trousers.

We are all victims of crime somehow but people must not let their hatred for the other races blind their judgment.

Mbuyi perhaps the journalist(s) are at fault for badly a badly worded report. However the enormous number of reports of rape over the past week make it very difficult for any rational person to see any other outcome. Rape in SA has become a national pass time and YES - 90% are perpetrated by black men. makes u think - doesn't it???

  • Mazwi Biyase - 2013-01-04 21:01

how can they say that they were with girls who could have been victims or rape? can they tell all that from two dead bodies? or some of the story have been left out.

You are spot on. Terrible bit of reporting. News 24 full of incompetent journalists.

This story was filed on SAPA - the South African Press Association News Feed. Few, if any, stories that appear on N24 are written by N24 journalists.

At the very least it is very bad sub editing. Someone (in theory of course) would've read this piece and should've realized it is totally incomplete. Bad journalism, bad editing, useless News24.

O.K. driving under the influence is against the law, so how many ruthless murders are committed. Rarely any predators are caught 'red handed' thus no statistic but guarantee it's wicked. There is no law against senseless murders. A filthy loophole in the world drug laws with alcohol as main culpret.. or what..hic or sick?.

@ Mbuyi Mabuya Maphalala. I agree with you about the reading, but race has nothing to do with it. We are getting tired of the racism foul cries which are not applicable.

The way the new year have started with all the rapes, murders and dead bodies around, the Mayans must have been wrong when they predicted a new stater of consciousness will prevail. Or they didn't know about Africa.

Pakistan, 4 Jan 2013 : Police in Pakistan say they have recovered three bodies, after women were shown singing at a wedding attended by men on Pakistani TV. Reports in June that the women in the video had been killed over their actions were quelled when village elders gave campaigners assurances they were alive. Police say they now believe relatives of the men may have been killed in a revenge attack by some the women's families. ( Chile, 5 Jan 2013: A Chilean landowner and his wife, who were involved in a land dispute with a local indigenous group, have been killed in a suspected arson attack. If they raped anybody good on those that did the deed, saved taxpayers a fortune, they should however be compensated for the wasted rounds

People who comment on edited stories and come up with uneducated guess's are such a pain. This story is a bad copy, the journalist has now given the impression to those who can't comprehend that they raped those girls. These boys are the victims here, those girls have not even been tested to see if they were raped. Please read carefully and make sure you are of sound judgement before you comment.
