Johannesburg - Two bodies are still missing from the aircraft crash near Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape Forensic Pathology Services said on Friday.

"We are still looking for the bodies of two of the passengers, the CEO of Italtile [Gianopaolo Ravazzotti] and one of the pilots... we don't know if it is the pilot or the co-pilot," said spokesperson Zolani Zenzile.

Nine people were killed in the accident.

Seven of the passengers had been identified from the remains the divers recovered from the sea, he said.

"On Saturday we are sending the remains to the George forensic laboratories, we will know more about the accident from what they find there."

The plane was travelling from Queenstown to Plettenberg Bay when it crashed while trying to land near the Robberg Nature Reserve in heavy fog on Tuesday.

The nine people killed were: Ravazzotti, Gia Celori, Aletsia Krause and Marilize Compion of Italtile, Sava Di Bella of Prima Bella Bathroom Accessories, Simon Hirschberg of Grainwave, Jody Jansen van Rensburg of CTM Alberton, pilot Bronwyn Parsons and co-pilot Alison van Staden.

The Civil Aviation Authority said on Friday that they were still investigating the cause of the accident.

In a statement on Wednesday it said that the aircraft, a Pilatus PC12, took off from Queenstown Aerodrome at 15:00 on Tuesday and was to have landed at Plettenberg Bay Aerodrome just after 16:00.

"Information at this stage indicates that, shortly after being handed over to the Cape Town radar control, and at approximately 5km away from Plettenberg Bay Aerodrome, the aircraft went off radar," the CAA said.

What are you on about? A plane crashed and 2 bodies are missing. This is unfortunatly not that uncommon with plane crashes. And what the devil does Shren Diwani have to do with this?

so if we know 9 people have been killed and we have idintified 7 you will know if its the pilot or the co-pilot??? whats up with this crappy reporting

I fail to understand how, when 7 bodies have been identified, they cannot clarify whether one of the missing bodies is the pilot or the co-pilot. This statement makes no sense whatsoever to me.

      Susannomore - 2011-02-12 10:13

And then it goes on to say that co-pilot Alison van Staden has been recovered and identified. Please Mr/Madam Editor - do some editting!
