Polokwane - Two rhino, a mother and a calf, have been killed by poachers in a Limpopo reserve, police said.

Tzaneen police spokesperson Major General Maggy Mathebula said the two rhinos were found in the Tiergarten Wildlife Reserve near Letsitele on Thursday.

Both had been shot and their horns removed.

In 2011, two rhino were killed and dehorned in the same reserve, which covers 8 000ha.

Last year, 448 rhino were killed in South Africa.

Why isn't there been something done to protect theses Rhino's, stop talking about it and take action and protect this endangered species.

@candice.raley. What are you doing to help stop the poaching ?

      Gestoffle - 2012-02-11 10:36

@kotze, you d*ck, what do you want her to do? Go and and start shooting the poachers? In case you didn't realise, its a war. She has done her part but identifying there is a problem!! Can you categorically say that she hasn't done anything? Even if she has donated R10 she has done something! So then, what have you done other than troll today?

  • Snoopsy - 2012-02-10 12:17

Disgusting man. We (S.A.) Should stop all business dealings with China as a result..

If the poachers were to get caught, i think they are to be put under, their noses removed and brought back again... showing them more humanity than what they have shown those poor animals who were shot and killed! Let them see how they like it!

Oh no, the rhino saga again...... if they are not poached they are sold to millionnaires! Does this government realise the true seriousness of this very sensitive issue - when are we going to hear of an action plan that will really work, not just empty words from big mouths!
