Johannesburg - Two students at the University of Limpopo were arrested for alleged assault during student representative council elections on Thursday, Limpopo police said.

Constable Moses Molepo said the students, aged 21 and 22, were from different organisations.

"The one student laid a charge of assault and then the second student also laid a charge."

They would appear in the Mankweng Magistrate's Court on Friday.
