Bloemfontein - A bus crashed into the wall of a parking lot on the third storey of a building on Monday, injuring two passers-by on the ground below who were hit by falling glass and debris.

ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak said the accident happened in Central Park, Bloemfontein at around 06:00 on Monday.

"It is understood that a bus crashed into the parking lot’s wall which is situated approximately three storeys high in Central Park, Bloemfontein.

"Bystanders explained that the bus crashed into the wall and debris from the wall as well as glass from the windows of the bus fell down onto the people walking on the sidewalk."

Two people - a woman believed to be in her 60s, and a man in his 30s - were hurt.

"Paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after 06:00 where they found the injured woman and man still lying on the ground between the debris. The woman sustained serious head injuries while the man sustained moderate injuries all over his head and body.

"They were transported to Pelonomi Hospital by ER24 and Provincial EMS respectively."

No one was injured in the bus.
