Johannesburg - A man wanted by the police for cash-in-transit robbery, armed robbery and possession of stolen property was arrested in Soweto on Tuesday, said Gauteng police.

Lieutenant Colonel Katlego Mogale said police acting on a tip-off arrested the 35-year-old man after spotting his car around 15:00.

The man was allegedly involved in four cash-in-transit robberies between March 2005 and August 2006, a case of armed robbery in Lenasia and was found in possession of stolen goods in Mondeor.

Mogale said he was possibly linked to crimes in other provinces. Police were investigating.

The man was expected to appear soon in court.
