Winelands murder: Ex-mistress speaks

2013-01-23 09:01

Cape Town - The former mistress of Winelands murder accused Johan du Toit, who stands accused of killing his wife Chanel on the Dieu Donné wine estate in Franschhoek , testified in Paarl how she had been intimate with the suspect.

Lucia Kock appeared in the Paarl Regional Court on Tuesday and said that nine days before Chanel died, she had been intimate with De Kock but had stopped it “before it went too far”, reported Die Burger.

She said she had been insecure at the time and had enjoyed the attention.

Chanel’s body was found in her cottage on the wine estate. She had been strangled.

Kock said she and Johan du Toit had regularly visited each other before becoming intimate.

She said on 27 June 2010, the morning after a birthday party was held for his wife, Du Toit had told her of a fight he’d had with his wife after she had told him “sex with another man was better than sex with him”.

She admitted under cross examination that everyone at the party had been drunk when Chanel had made this statement.

Kock and Du Toit had apparently been in a relationship before he married Chanel.

Du Toit appeared tense in court on Tuesday and stared at the floor.

'DE KOCK' is what she loved from Du Toit, De Kock is the body while Du Toit is the soul...but its one person! News24, never cease to amuse!

Mr Sicko, robbed a family of their daughter, whom they cherished. As for the mistress, how after having had sex with the guy, do you stop the affair before it goes too far it had already, did he perhaps tell her what he was going to do, because how much further can it go than having sex with him. What about his parents, they're not guilty, but they have to suffer the turmoil, anguish and heartache of seeing their son charged with murder. Why didn't he just tell her he loved someone else and the marriage was over.
