Johannesburg – A woman was raped before she and two men were killed in Putfontein, on the East Rand, on Saturday morning, Gauteng police said.

"The three were reported to have come across four men as they walked in a bushy area in the early hours of the morning," Lieutenant Kay Makhubela said.

"The men were shot dead while the woman was raped before being killed," Makhubela said.

The police’s dog unit and the flying squad were called, and caught two of the four-man gang.

"One of the suspects was found with the gun."

They would be charged with rape and murder.

The search for the other two was continuing.
