Woman killed, 13 hurt in Durban crash

Johannesburg - A woman was killed and 13 other people were injured when the drivers of a taxi and a car collided in Durban on Saturday, paramedics said.

The taxi was hit on its side at the intersection of Smith and Stranger streets at 18:00, Netcare911 spokesperson Chris Botha said.

"Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that a female tragically died on scene due to the extensive injuries that she sustained," Botha said.

"Six people were seriously injured, while seven escaped with minor injuries."

The injured were stabilised and taken to various hospitals for further treatment.

      @Anthony If CEO of SABC can be without matric, imagine what are the requrements for taxi driver. Probably something like "Can you hold an oval object in your hands and rotate?" What STOP signs are you talking about? They are for mhulungu, not for ubuntu.....Eish man.
