Johannesburg - A 36-year-old woman was raped at an open space on the Folley Ground in Grahamstown, Eastern Cape police said on Monday.

This was after she left her home in Hlalani following an argument with a relative, said Captain Mali Governder.

"She was en route to a friend's house when she was accosted by two men on Saturday, shortly after midnight," she said.

No arrests were made and a case of rape was being investigated.
