Durban - A woman was rescued by paramedics after her car left in the M13 near Fields Hill in Pinetown and plunged down a 30m slope on Saturday night.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said that the woman, 37, had sustained moderate injuries in the accident.

“Paramedics, along with rescue services, responded to the scene, and on arrival found the light motor vehicle lying at the bottom of the embankment in a drainage ditch.”

“Rescue services and paramedics carefully extricated the patient from the vehicle and moved her up to the roadside. Once treated, she was transported to Hillcrest Hospital for further treatment,” he said.

Meiring added that the cause of the crash remained uncertain.
