Woman's body found in rubbish bin

2012-10-06 14:50

Johannesburg - The body of a 21-year-old woman was found in a rubbish bin in extension 24 of Jouberton, North West police said on Saturday.

"At this stage, preliminary investigations reveal the cause of death as a blunt force trauma to the head, but we are waiting for the results from the autopsy to confirm this," captain Amanda Funani said.

"Due to the warm conditions in the province the body had already started to decompose. It is alleged that the rubbish bin was hidden inside the house in a spare room where the victim was staying alone."

Funani said the woman's mother tried to call her on Thursday night and could not get hold of her. On Friday the mother went to Jouberton and found the body of her daughter inside the rubbish bin.

"The mother and the neighbours searched the house and there was the smell coming out of the spare room," she said.

A murder docket was opened and investigations continue, Funani added.

In investigating, your 1st stop should be the BF.

nthabiseng,if your man displays criminal behavour in your relationship please refrain from thinking all men are like that...what happened is terrible but what if it's the results of another woman's doing?...not every crime is commited by men

Last week she was a vibrant young woman, full of life and the promise of a bright future. Today she is dead, discarded as garbage because someone decided she should not live. How sad is that? Condolences to the family...

The crime rate has increased significantly ever since Zuma released those convicts early this year.

It seems this government and country is growing imune to death. It happens so much. You almost expect to read about someone being murdered , robbed or hijacked in SA everytime you read the newspaper or logon onto news24 . This country is becoming so calloused in their hearts that it actually seems if theres no news about murder, robbery, hijacking, rape etc then its not really newsworthy. And theres too much passivityin this country. Everybody's waiting for somebody to do something about it but nobody's doing anything about it. And life just carries on as usual until the next terrible news item gets read and so on. If you organise a prayer meeting about 20 people turn up IF you're lucky BECAUSE hardly anybody has faith in an Almighty God anymore. Because at the end of the day God is our ONLY hope in this sick society. We are truly the crime capital of the world. We must become proactive, its the only way. God says faith without works is dead.
