Zuma's nephew caught speeding

2012-01-21 13:00

Durban - A nephew of President Jacob Zuma has paid a R3 000 admission of guilt fine after he was caught driving at 181km/h in KwaZulu Natal, The Star reported on Saturday.

KwaZulu Natal police spokesperson Thulane Zwane confirmed the incident involving Khulubuse Zuma, who is also the chairperson of the embattled gold mining company, Aurora Empowerment Systems.

Zuma was driving a silver convertible Maserati when he was trapped by Ballito traffic police on January 9.

He was arrested by Road Traffic Inspectorate officials and taken to Umhlali police station. He appeared in Umhlali Magistrate's Court the following day.

Police told the newspaper that the vehicle was registered to Viglietti Motors in Cape Town. Manager Gareth Crossley would not say if the car was being test driven by Zuma or if he was in the process of buying it.

"I cannot say anything," he said.

probabilly missed the second plane on it's way to New York

      ubhejane - 2012-01-21 13:20

Jerhone, he needs an Airbus A380 with all the seats removed just for himself. Have you seen the size of this piece of filth?

      Schmee - 2012-01-21 14:34

For once he was on time but the plane couldn't take off with his weight.

      Kim - 2012-01-21 14:53

Must have been one hell of an important meeting. You Fat F@ck

      Craig - 2012-01-21 19:42

Might explain the third plane that followed.

      Juan - 2012-01-22 03:21

@ubhejane no the wings will break off. He will have to be transported on the deck of an empty oil tanker

      George - 2012-01-22 06:51

@ Kim, Meeting with new transpore and test drive, wait for it AN AIRCRAFT CARRIER. So now you know

      comurray - 2012-01-22 08:56

Do you mean a C130 cargo plane?

  • Heinrich - 2012-01-21 13:07

...guilt fine after he was caught driving at R181km/h... Now this is proof that speed limits are only there to make money... next guy will be caught speeding at R10 000km/h

      ubhejane - 2012-01-21 13:22

Maserati, speed fines are a fallacy. It should be called the bonus system of the traffic police.

      Heinrich - 2012-01-21 13:34

Hi, ubhejane! Missed you. Yes, agreed. The new way of expressing speed in units of Rkm/h is enough proof. Don't hit me. I will reply soon.

  • hcduplessis - 2012-01-21 13:07

No doubt news 24 has run out of "news" to tell,"Zuma's nephew caught speeding"-SO WHAT!!!

      Anthony - 2012-01-21 13:21

but look at the fine only R3000 wtf, I bet if it was you it would be much much more 181km/h

      George - 2012-01-21 14:30

      hic hic

      Schmee - 2012-01-21 14:33

And the fact that he owes millions to the workers at Aurora. If he was in fact test driving this car with the view to buy it then it's just disgusting that he isn't first paying the workers.

      Stefanus - 2012-01-22 06:11

It's news because he's a public figure. Go read up about Aurora, his other dealings and recent court cases.

  • Faith - 2012-01-21 13:07

    Eeish this old dumb boy...

  • Heinrich - 2012-01-21 13:28

A rare specimen. How can he enjoy his life in the wake of so much misery? Has he ever had a joyful moment in his life, or is it all about bling? On the issue of fines: They all discriminate against the poor. Fines should be determined as a % of nett worth, to have an equal effect on perpetrators.

      Phill - 2012-01-21 20:22

Poor Maserati. She must have been creaking loudly under his weight till the police intervened. The guy is so cruel. Why can't he drive on a tractor?

      comurray - 2012-01-22 09:03

His answer would be "dilligaf" = do I look like I give a f*****.

  • bennievanderwesthuizen - 2012-01-21 13:29

would Viglietti Motors in Cape Town also allow me please to test drive a convertible Maserati 1675 km away from the dealership ??? I smell a rat

      André - 2012-01-21 13:40

Strange, very strange !! Car belongs to Cape Town company and he test drives in KZN?? Dit is n pot snot!!!

      Gungets - 2012-01-21 13:57

It is well known that he bought it for his wife, handed it over to her at dinner at the Oysterbox Hotel. He has not registered it yet just in case he gets liquidated for Auraura and loses it. Useless fat pig.

      Ronald - 2012-01-21 20:59

It also indicates that Viglietti Motors kowtow to the Zumas as they do not wish to comment. Also p@sses me off that this company is prepared to do business with a "person" that has Kulubuse's morals as money counts for everything. I did not think anybody would like to be associated with Kulubuse, but clearly this does not bother Viglietti Motors.

  • Wesley - 2012-01-21 13:39

He must have driven a truck, he can't fit in a car, fat ass

      George - 2012-01-21 14:27

He was being towed by the 2nd aircraft

      Piet - 2012-01-21 16:58

He surely blames apartheid for this speeding violation

  • chris.khanye - 2012-01-21 14:01

My assertion all along about his excessive weight is correct - he could have been caught doing more than 250km/h but his car buckled under that weight. Wow! The guy is extremely fat....

  • delahvonne - 2012-01-21 14:06

Mr Zooma...............zoom zoom leads to boom boom OK!!!!????

  • mikeangell61 - 2012-01-21 14:07

Only R3000,The bikers pay much more for speeding but if you are a ZZzzzooooommmma????

  • Hermann - 2012-01-21 14:17

Who cares if it is Zuma's or Eugene Terre'blanche's nephew, the fact is it was an imbecile speeding. Bloody journalist seeing empty politics in this should either go back to school or be fired - this issue is a maniac speeding.

      Heinrich - 2012-01-21 14:42

Imbecile? Maniac? You mean FAT.Speeding. Momentum = mass x velocity A thirty ton vehicle travelling at 80km/h has more destructive potential than a motorcar travelling at 300km/h. Therefore this Zuma character should not be prosecuted because of the speed, but because of his mass. His fatness. This presents a problem. I recently read that he could not attend a court case because he is too fat.

      Ronald - 2012-01-21 21:04

In the first place the person is controversial as it is. the second is that a person that has destroyed the lives of many employees is free to do as he pleases. You and I would be camping out at court with even the government taking a hand. Last point, if you look at the history of speedsters in the same area you will find that their fines by far exceed this R3000, just google it.

      Stefanus - 2012-01-22 06:15

      Hermann you are a poephol.

  • George - 2012-01-21 14:21

One hell of a test drive from capetown to durban

      Sean - 2012-01-22 23:20

That fat f@ck was most probably stuck in the car , he couldn`t get out !

  • Shirley - 2012-01-21 14:27

Living the life on the gravy train! Take his licence! That is sinful-drive a maserati whilst the people who slaved for you are starving! Uncle Jacob will bail me out if Im caught!DISGUSTING AND SINFUL! Hang your head in shame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Grant - 2012-01-21 14:33

The trolls are not out in support of 'fats' Zuma. A sure sign that support for JZ is waning. Although the car is not registered in K Zuma's name, he must have paid for it and owns it. Pity the car dealer won't reveal what is behind this.

  • Greg - 2012-01-21 14:37

Leave the poor lad alone I mean look at him?what self respecting person would walk around that obese,it's frightening. It doesn't look to me like it's glandular or whatever the excuses are these days but pure and simple excess.Nothing in moderation for this chap.

  • Trevor - 2012-01-21 14:43

And he will get his money back...because "THEY" will say...his a BLUELIGHT driver.

  • Irene - 2012-01-21 14:49

I sincerely hope this lump of lard meets his maker (Satan) ASAP and that it's a taxi that takes him out.

      Shirley - 2012-01-21 16:44

Problem is the devil looks after his own!

  • Alan - 2012-01-21 15:03

He must have been late to catch a free trip to New York in one of the "shadow planes" that his uncle used.

  • Michael Kleber - 2012-01-21 15:12

shame Fatboy must have been on his way to get a super size tripple decker burger with extra large chips meal at MacD's , anyway any car that can do 180 with that weight is a car of note , but i guess its suspension is finished after its been Khulubusud

  • Larry - 2012-01-21 15:38

WIth the size of him, what was he driving, a Tank? The Fat Bastard will probably walk, which adds insult to injury.

      Jerhone - 2012-01-22 16:29

but larry maybe he was making nutty professor three, everybody wonders how he gets into the car,me i'm thinking, has he got his own personal a*se wiper? and WHO is brave enough to wash the skidmarks out of his underpants?

  • Phill - 2012-01-21 15:53

Maserati? You must be joking. It must have been a bus. The man is so fat he can't even go to court, let alone fit in in such a car. The police must tell us the truth. They must have arrested him for OVERLOAD!

      Heinrich - 2012-01-21 15:59

Probably 2 cars, Phill. If his uncle can use two planes, then I suppose he can use a backup car as well. One car to carry the mass and the other to carry the ego, arrogance and injustice.

  • Piet - 2012-01-21 16:56

That's why he belongs on a donkey car.

  • Tshivhombela Fhatuwani - 2012-01-21 16:58

This one does not worry me, he is dying a slow death from obesity and diabetis. I wander if he can even get it up.

      Osman Bux - 2012-01-21 17:56

No, he can't. That's why he has to compensate by buying expensive cars for the woman in his life.

      Tshivhombela Fhatuwani - 2012-01-21 18:14

@ Osman, ha ha ha! Crazy one, all that is left for him is driving, useless!!

      Swapie - 2012-01-28 15:50

Yeah, he is most likely trying rhino horn...

  • Marius - 2012-01-21 17:53

2010 Maserati GranTurismo Convertible prices start at $135,800

  • Eduard - 2012-01-21 19:04

big deal...who has not been caught speeding?

  • Craig - 2012-01-21 19:39

Crumbs... if I do 181 Km/h and get caught, I think that they would throw the book at me. This guy get a slap on the wrist... Guess the old rule is true... It's Who you know and not What you know...

  • Vincent - 2012-01-21 20:04

Some car to move his fat ass that fast!

  • jsaavedragallardo - 2012-01-21 20:32

How does this fat fella get in and out of a Maserati??

  • Gregory Jurgens - 2012-01-22 07:31

He is going to need two. One to shadow him. It's a new fad going around, all high profile people need expensive shadows. Normal shadows are for the unemployed starving masses.

  • miyo27 - 2012-01-22 09:24

the headline should have been - "Fat turd caught speeding in Maserati, Ferarri want secret for building stronger suspension"

  • billidp - 2012-01-22 13:43

I wonder if his license is going to be taken away as our Min of Transport has said will happen to those disobeying traffic laws? Test driving a Maserati that belongs to a Cape Town garage in KZN??? Yeah right!!!

  • Wendy - 2012-01-22 15:40
