Durban - Two alleged farm attackers were arrested just hours after they stormed a Mooi River farm on Saturday night.

Lieutenant-Colonel Thulani Zwane said that one of the men was shot and wounded during a scuffle with the farmer.

"The arrested suspects were found along the R103 in the Mooi River area on Sunday morning. One sustained a gunshot wound and is under police guard in hospital. They will appear in the Mooi River Magistrate's Court on Tuesday facing house robbery charges," he said.

"A farm owner and his wife were watching TV in their house when they were approached by three suspects. The couple was assaulted and robbed of their 9mm pistol. Is it alleged that during the robbery, one of the suspect was shot and injured," he said.

The three fled the scene of foot and police later tracked down the men not far from the farm.

"One suspect is still at large with a stolen firearm," Zwane added.
