Polokwane - A Limpopo man who allegedly took part in the murder of an 82-year-old woman was killed in a mob justice attack, police said on Monday.

Two of the three men allegedly involved in the woman's murder were arrested in Hlanganani, near Giyani, over the weekend, Lieutenant-Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said.

The third man allegedly involved in the murder ran away.

"The suspects took the deceased forcefully from her house to another house at Rotterdam village and killed her. The motive is suspected to be witchcraft."

On Sunday, locals tracked the third man down, dragged him to the local cemetery and burnt him to death. Nobody had been arrested in connection with his murder.

The other two men, aged 29 and 31, were expected to appear before the Giyani Magistrate's Court on Tuesday on a charge of murder.
