Cape Town – An ambulance crew was held at gunpoint and robbed in Khayelitsha early on Tuesday morning, a Western Cape health official said.

The crew had attended to a call at Shwabane Crescent in J-section around 02:00 when they were accosted, said emergency medical services spokesperson Robert Daniels.

They were robbed of their cellphones and wallets.

The crew received trauma counselling and were booked off work until further notice.
