Durban – Police are investigating the death of Thembinkosi Zoleka, an African National Congress PR councillor from the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast, who was shot on Thursday night.

According to police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala, Margate police were called out to Phillip Road just before 00:00.

"They proceeded to a scene where they found the body of a 47-year-old man inside the residential premises with gunshot wounds to the head. The motive for the killing and the suspects are unknown. Investigation is continuing."

Zoleka was a PR councillor for Ray Nkonyeni Municipality.
