Cape Town - ANC MP Makhosi Khoza has been redeployed to the portfolio committee on economic development.
Khoza paid the price for criticising President Jacob Zuma and the ANC when she was removed from her position as chairperson of the portfolio committee on public service and administration in August, after five ANC MPs boycotted one of her meetings.
ANC caucus spokesperson Nonceba Mhlauli confirmed that Khoza had been moved to the committee on economic development. Ebrahim Patel is the minister.
Another ANC MP from that committee, Mervyn Dirks, has been moved to the portfolio committee on small business development, following his role in the incident.
ANC whip in the public service committee Regina Lesoma will act as chairperson in Khoza's stead until a new chairperson is appointed.

ANC MP Dalton Khosa will replace Dirks in the committee, having previously served on the portfolio committee on basic education.
ANC chief whip Jackson Mthembu claimed that Khoza had insulted some of her colleagues in their WhatsApp study group after the boycotted meeting, to the point that they no longer wanted to work with her.
Khoza hit back at those accusations, saying she was only responding to their initial taunts in the same sequence of messages.
Her colleagues had accused her of being a traitor and a "DA handler", she said.
She said on Facebook on August 18 that she was looking forward to being an ANC backbencher in the National Assembly, so she could continue to hold those in power to account.
