Durban - The ANC Youth league in KwaZulu-Natal has announced that they will support a move to vote controversial SABC corporate affairs head Hlaudi Motsoeneng to the party’s National Executive Committee at the elective conference in 2017.

Motsoeneng is expected to deliver a guest address at an ANCYL KZN lecture on economic freedom.

Thinta Cibane, the ANCYL secretary general in the eThekwini region, said that the provincial structure would support the elevation of Motsoeneng to the NEC.

“Comrade Hlaudi we misled you when we asked you to come here and deliver this lecture.

“We want to announce that we will support your name at the ANC NEC conference in 2017…we want to give you a five-year term as the member of the ANC so that you can be deployed to an even more strategic position in the Cabinet as a minister,” he said.

“We know that with you in the NEC there will be no more votes of no confidence,” he added.
