Johannesburg - Murder accused ANCYL official Patrick Wisani's bail must be revoked after he was said to have assaulted a witness at the weekend, the State said in court on Tuesday.

The witness is believed to be the twin sister of the woman he allegedly killed.

A warrant of arrest was issued for the former ANCYL official after he and his lawyer failed to appear before the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court.

Wisani, accused of sjambokking his girlfriend to death, was scheduled to appear in court on a charge of murder.

The State made an urgent application to have his bail revoked because he had had contact with one of the witnesses in the murder case.

Prosecutor Faghré Mohamed said Wisani had "breached his bail conditions".

Wisani allegedly killed his girlfriend Nosipho Mandleleni, 24, at a home they shared in Yeoville in September last year.

He handed himself to police two days later.

Wisani, the chairperson of the ANCYL Johannesburg Inner City branch and a former member of the Yeoville Community Policing Forum, was out on R3 000 bail.
