About three men have robbed the Pep Stores shop in Red Ruth Village Shopping Centre in Alberton, Gauteng police said.

Captain Mavela Masondo said the suspects had pretended to be customers when they entered the store on Sunday morning.

"They suddenly pointed firearms at the employees, demanding money and cellphones," said Masondo.

He said the men took an undisclosed amount of money and cellphones from the store.

"No shots were fired, and no one was injured during the robbery," he said.

He said no arrests have been made at this stage as police were still looking for the suspects.
