Cape Town – A Cape Town wife accused of organising a hit on her husband had additional bail conditions imposed by the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, the National Prosecuting Authority said.

During 44-year-old Petina Coetzee’s appearance, she was told she would have additional bail conditions, regional spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila said.

On Thursday, the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court issued a warrant for her arrest as it found she had broken one of her bail conditions by contacting her husband.

She was granted R30 000 bail in October. The matter was postponed until February 21.

Coetzee handed herself in at the Lansdowne police station on Saturday evening and was arrested, Netwerk24 reported.

She was first arrested in a police sting in the parking lot of the Lansdowne railway station two months ago, after she allegedly tried to arrange her 66-year-old husband Austin’s murder. The sting was set up after Manenberg police received information about the attempted crime.

She has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

The court previously heard that her lawyer wanted to procure a psychological report for her.

The matter was likely to be transferred to the Western Cape High Court early next year.
