Cape Town – Two people were killed and two others severely injured after two bakkies and a motorbike collided on the R101 near Franschhoek on Saturday, paramedics said.

ER24 spokesperson Annine Siddall said when paramedics arrived at the scene, four men and a child, believed to be two, were found.

Siddall said two men were declared dead at the scene.

The other man and a child were taken to the Paarl Provincial Hospital for further medical care.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigation.

The cause of the accident is unknown.
