Cape Town - Metrorail has terminated trains travelling from Cape Town to Bellville via Lavistown due to protest action on Saturday.

Western Cape traffic chief Kenny Africa said protesters are burning tyres on railway lines between Belhar and Lavistown.

Africa said Metrorail had no buses available and commuters are advised to use alternative transport.
