Port Elizabeth - The body of a teenager wrapped in blankets was found outside a house in Missionvale, Algoa Park, on Friday, Eastern Cape police said.

Her body was found lying outside a house in Kadett Street, Missionvale, and she was wrapped in blankets and tied up, Colonel Priscilla Naidu said.

"It is alleged that on June 13, Charmaine Magielies, 17, went to visit her brother who resides nearby," Naidu said.

Her parents reported her missing at the Algoa Park police station on June 14.

The exact cause of her death was still unknown.

A murder case had been opened.

Anyone with information can contact Captain Harold Seku at the Algoa Park police station on 0798967749.
