Durban – A 6-year-old boy was killed in Durban on Wednesday after he was hit by a bus, paramedic services said.

Rescue Care spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said paramedics arrived at Anett Drive in Reservoir Hills just after 08:00 and found that the child had been struck by a bus.

"On clinical assessment of the child it was discovered that, unfortunately, the child had sustained multiple critical injuries and had passed away before paramedics’ arrival."

The cause of the incident is still unknown at this stage, but officials were investigating further.
