Boy killed in paraffin fire

Butterworth  Police are investigating the death of a 15-year-old boy who was killed during a paraffin fire on Saturday. 

Police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha, said the incident took place at about 20:30 in Zazulwana Village, Butterworth.

He said it was suspected the fire was caused by paraffin placed adjacent to a heater.

Manatha said the parents of the deceased were asleep in a separate room and were shocked when they saw flames coming from their son's room. He was asleep at the time.
