Cape Town - Two suspects allegedly involved in a robbery at the Navaho Spur in Brackenfell on Sunday evening have been arrested, police confirmed on Tuesday.

"Police members from Brackenfell SAPS arrested two suspects on Monday and this morning [Tuesday] after a well-known family restaurant in Brackenfell was robbed on Sunday evening," police spokesperson captain Frederick van Wyk said.

The two suspects allegedly entered the restaurant in Old Paarl Road at approximately 21:00 on Sunday and asked for a table.

"One of the suspects produced a firearm and pointed it at the 27-year-old manager, demanding the cash in the cash register," said Van Wyk.

"They then insisted on the cash in the safe as well. When she hesitated, she was hit over the head with a firearm. Fortunately, she sustained no serious injuries."

"The suspects met a third suspect who waited at the entrance of the restaurant and they left on foot with cash and liquor."

No shots were fired.

The first suspect was arrested on Monday afternoon in Eerste River and the second in Khayelitsha in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The two arrested suspects would appear in the Blue Downs Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
