Cape Town – Armed robbers have targeted a security company in Brackenfell to gain access to their weapons.

Tracking and Security Services' owner Peet van der Walt confirmed the gang got into the company's safe around 04:30 on Thursday and stole their firearms.

He could not say how many were taken as police were still investigating.

"None of my people are hurt."

Western Cape police confirmed the business robbery in Gemini Street.

"A security guard was busy with a routine inspection when he was approached by an armed suspect who was later joined by two others," said Captain FC van Wyk.

The guard was forced inside the building and locked in a room with a colleague, he said. No shots were fired.

Van Wyk said there had been no arrests as yet.
