Burglar gets life imprisonment for fatal robbery

Polokwane – A burglar who stabbed a homeowner to death has been sentenced to life behind bars by a Polokwane court.

Alex Talent Chauke was convicted in the Seshego Regional Court, outside Polokwane in the North West for the murder of Ignatius Petrus Oosthuizen, 30.

In May 2015, Chauke broke into Oosthuizen’s home in Serala View and stabbed him to death.

His 27-year-old wife was injured in her arm during the incident, said police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.

Provincial Commissioner Lt. General Nneke Ledwaba commended detectives for cracking the case.
