Businessman murdered in front of 11-year-old son

Polokwane – Limpopo police have appealed to the public for any information regarding the shooting of a businessman on Tuesday morning.

The 46-year-old man, who was the owner of a security company in Flora Park, was shot in his home in front of his 11-year-old son and family helper.

According to a statement released by Limpopo SAPS, the man’s son was on his way to school on Tuesday morning when three unknown men confronted him at the gate.

They pushed the son back into the house and proceeded shove him and the helper into the bedroom where the businessman was.

Once inside, without saying a word, they shot the man several times. The incident happened at around 07.10.

Limpopo police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said no arrests have been made and the motive for the killing is unknown.

Police are continuing to investigate and anyone with information is requested to contact Warrant Officer Kotze at 0827448205.
