Cape Town – A minibus taxi guard died after being stabbed in the vehicle in Bellville, Western Cape police said on Thursday.

Two men approached the guard while he was standing on Thursday afternoon on the corner of Voortrekker and Durban roads, said Captain FC van Wyk.

They asked for a small amount of money and he said he could not help them.

He got into the minibus taxi and closed the door.

One of the men then stabbed him through an open window before running away, said Van Wyk.

Police were investigating a case of murder. No arrests had yet been made.
