Cattle herder finds decomposed body in open field

Pietermaritzburg – Police at the Alexandra Road police station in Pietermaritzburg have appealed to families that have a missing family member to contact them following the discovery of a decomposed body in Ashburton.

The body was found by a cattle herder on Wednesday afternoon in an open field.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said their paramedics were called to the scene when the local authorities were alerted to the incident.

Police spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbhele said an inquest docket has been opened following the discovery.
