Children among 8 killed in fire at Durban orphanage

Durban - Eight people have died in a fire at an orphanage in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal Emergency Services confirmed on Thursday morning.

Children were among the deceased and some were as young as 8-years-old. Four people were injured and hospitalised.

KZN EMS said it received the call about the fire at the home in Parlock, Durban, at about 02:24 on Thursday morning.

The name of the orphanage is the Key of Hope.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
